Today is the day that our Franchise Development Manager Jessica attends the BFA (British Franchise Association) Annual Conference 2019. We are very excited to hear how she gets on, especially as we have been nominated and shortlisted to the final three to win ‘Emerging Franchisor of The Year’ Award!

Jessica is also picking up her QFP (Qualified Franchise Professional) qualification and certificate during the conference this year. This is a great achievement and a large milestone in her franchising career, after attending events and seminars as well as passing all core course models and the final professional dialogue, Jessica is thrilled to have progressed and gained a deeper knowledge and understanding into franchising.

We appreciate and are proud to have the backing of an industry association (bfa). The bfa has been immensely valuable to our brand and business. The events, seminars and training days that are offered through the association which we have attended, have all helped towards us improving our franchise operations and recruitment. One of the biggest things we have taken from this whole experience of franchising is the knowledge and advice from the whole industry – the impact on our business has been huge.
The biggest strategy which we have implemented is networking – taking advantage of every opportunity to improve best practice and our knowledge through other people’s experiences, success stories and pitfalls. We could not have achieved our franchise dream without this. The BFA, Franchise Finance and The Franchise Company along with other key franchise affiliates and associates have all been a great support to our franchise.
Having affiliation and accreditation with the BFA has offered tremendous credibility to not only ourselves but also our potential franchisees and all our franchisees’ customers. Our products are very expensive, one off purchases. Through a combination of the reliability of the top brands we sell and our approved partnerships with trade and business organisations, this reassures our customers who buy from our stores, that we are part of a much bigger network than our competitors. I think our customers understand the degree of processes, controls and systems that are required for a franchise to work – this degree of diligence and professionalism we have had to implement in order to be approved by the BFA has certainly set us apart from our retail competitors as well as other franchisors who have no association with the BFA or have not been officially endorsed.
We are in an industry where consumer confidence is key to retail success. There are only a few professional, trade bodies which have any credible relevance. Having partnered with all relative professional organisations within our industry, since we started our business, being part of the Business Franchise Association has been the most important affiliation to date in raising our profile, our status and any reassurance of our business integrity we could possibly offer to customers.
